Hi Laurel.. I am thrilled to hear of the approval through Guatemala City. I am the one who has asked you a few times on your chat if you have any cases through there. Now that CIR is dead, we are seriously considering moving forward w/ our case. If possible can you please tell me the wait time and what level of hardship was involved. Sorry to impose but I have been desparately seeking info for GTM. Any word would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!, havefaith

About six months from filing the 601 at the consulate to the applicant arriving in the US with an immigrant visa.
Its hard to guage based on one case. For the moment, I'll call it a moderate office.

I thought Guatemala City did not adjudicate waivers and they were sent somewhere else?

There's a CIS office in Guatemala City. We did the fee-in-amend-later strategy for this case, so I sent the brief and evidence directly to Guatemala City. If they then sent the packet to another location, it was unbeknownst to me. I have not actually seen the approval notice. I only know that six months after filing the 601, my client was called in for an interview and issued a visa and has now entered the US.
