For those like me that like to go out eat somewhere especially on the weekends here is a little tip. Restaurant.com is a web site where you can purchase a gift certificate for a lot less than the value of the certificate. We have tried so many new restaurants this way without the guilt of spending a whole lot for a family of 3. For ex. a $25 certificate is $10 but if you use a special code it will give you 60% off which will be $4. The only thing is make sure you read all the requirement from the restaurant because they require a certain amount of $$ you need to purchase. The one I use the most requires to purchase at least $35 (this is prior to the coupon) which leaves us to pay 10. We usually spend around $15 (out of pocket) for a very nice meal drinks included. Again be careful which ones you choose because some even add an 18% gratuity so please, please be careful on that and the amount you have to purchase. The code for the 60% off is Allstar, just put this when checking out and you will see the discount and make sure you are able to print these on the spot when you purchase them. We went this Sunday and spent $18 after the discount which is what we would pay for a pizza or other fast food and we all had different plates.

Restaurant.com has even more discounts through workingadvantage.com. Look at my other thread for the passcode.

I've bought from them before. :)

I do this too, definately great!

neat I have a question, though. The coupon says, "Valid with a minimum foid purchase of $35 including 2 entrees"

Does that mean I have to spend $35 cash in addition to my certificate?

Ok I went on there and it only had 4 restaurants for our area and all were more than 30 minutes away. With the cost of gas we tend to stay here.. especially just to go out to eat. Does anyone have ways to get coupons, discounts with chain stores like Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, etc??

No, you spend $35 before the discount, so let's say you spent $37 minus the $25 you are paying $12 for the meals.

Jackpot!!

So I anticipate my dinner coming out to $100 (expensive place) and I buy $75 worth of certificates, I only pay $25 in the restaurant???

You are only allowed to use one coupon at a time, but some restaurants have $50 and $100 coupons as well. Make sure that you read the requirements for the coupon before you purchase it. Also make sure you show the certificate prior to ordering just to be on the safe side, the places I've been also like to validate the coupon prior to ordering anyways I guess to be sure that it is valid.

I just called my younger brother all excited to tell him about this (in Colorado) and he was like, "what position are you on the pyramid scheme?" hahahaha

It looks cool though!

OK, I didn't know about the using one coupon at a time. Unfortunately, it was printed on the actual coupon, so I couldn't have known until I had already purchased and printed 4 coupons for this expensive place. It did say on the coupon that I could exchange for another withtin 30 days (I think), so I'm going to try to do that today.

Depending on the coupon restrictions, most restaurants only allow one coupon per visit. But read the fine print before you spend $5000 on dinner and then be surprised when you can only use one coupon towards your meal/drinks. I used to be a server and people would try to get a free meal out of things by bringing in a 3 inch stack worth of coupons and would get pissed when we could only apply one to the bill. Needless to say because of their lack of reading, servers got jipped tips like it was our fault, but we didn't write the coupons or the rules. You gotta read! Fine print is crucial.

No, these coupons specifically say on all of them that you may only use one per party/month, even if there are separate checks.

I used my first one last night-no problem!
