Ok, well as you all might recall my post from this weekend, I called the NVC and found out what the RFE this issued was all about. They are asking for the Hoja de Antecedentes Penales issued by the (DGIC) Direccion General de Investigacion General in Tegucigalpa. We had already sent this in other than it was issued by the office in San Pedro Sula and the NVC had already accepted it, but now they're asking for one from Tegu.
The issue now is that my husband does not have any family/friends in Tegucigalpa that could possibly go get these docs and mail them to us.
Does anyone have family/friends in Tegucigalpa that could possibly help us out?

My husband is in Tegus - he'd be happy to help. PM or email me and let me know what you need.

Are you guys able to just send anyone to get this without a problem? We were trying to get my husbands who is from Nicaragua but for some reason they won't give it to anyone but him, so we will have to wait until we go to Nicaragua so that he can get it.

Klame - just PM'd you back.
Jessfs8 - I think that's what we're trying to figure out. We sent my mother-in-law in with a letter authorizing her to pick it up and a copy of my husband's passport. This seemed to work no problem. As for non-relatives, we don't know yet.
In Klame's case, I say we just say my husband is a cousin or something - I mean we're all related in the end anyway! :)

hey ojos... they're just being ridiculous. we sent them ones from the DGIC in San Pedro Sula and they refused to accept them, saying they wanted the ones from the Tegus office. Other members have turned them in from San Pedro Sula, but I don't know what their deal is now. :(

My wife was there in Tegucigalpa 3 months ago. I would check for sure about who can get this certificate for you. I believe they told her that family or an attorney can pick it up with a notarized letter from the recipient. I don't know about sending a friend? Hopefully that will be OK for you. I hope you don't have any problems. When my wife was there, she went to the DGIC and was told she needed some paper from immigration. She got whatever they wanted and returned, only to be told it's to late come back tomorrow. She returned the next day and was told the guy she needed to see was on vacation. 2 weeks later he returned and then finally gave her the certificate, then she needed signature guarantee and notary or something because it was leaving to Guatemala.
I hope yours goes smoother than my wifes.
