Hello All!
My husband's EAD case status was just put online, and it said they received the app on 8/10, and that they sent me a notice on how they were going to proceed on this.

I have three questions about this:

1) I have the receipt from the post office stating that they received my application on 7/26. Why is there a discrepancy? Was this due to the high influx of apps before 7/30 (but even so, don't they go by the day they receive it?)

2) The only notice I received about his EAD was regarding his biometrics appt. Is this the notice they meant on the online status update? Or did they mean the Notice of Receipt (which I haven't received yet...)?

3) When I checked the processing times for his EAD process, it said online 11 weeks for EAD apps in conjunction with a pending I-485 (which is his case).
Is this 11 weeks counting from the 8/10 (or 7/26) date? Or is it after the biometrics date?

Thanks so much!

branquinha - I can only really answer one/two of your questions, so hopefully someone else can answer the others that you have.

As far as the discrepancy in the 'received' dates - although you petition may have physically been received in their office on 7/26 via mail or however you sent it - the date that they actually 'picked it up' and prioritized it was on 8/10 by entering it into their system on that date, not the day it was physically in their office.

To your third question - because the priority date on the EAD is 8/10 - this is the date it will be processed by - so the 11 weeks should be from then, not the original date of 7/26.

I hope that helped somewhat - and like I said, maybe someone else can answer your other question!!
