Hi everyone
I am taking two classes this summer, Corrections and than my Senior Criminal Justice Seminar. I am writing a paper...well actually three this semester...two small ones for Corrections which take the place of the midterm and final exams, and one for SCJS. I am going to be writing about "illegal immigrants" and the Criminal Justice system/Corrections/legal system...the first paper for Corrections is only 5-7 pages, but the SCJS paper has to be at least 10 pages...anyways I am being sneaky by using the same topic for both classes...but the format will be different for each...one has to be a RESEARCH paper, while the other I can show more creativity...but please don't tell. :innocent:
ANYWAYS...hopefully this is the right spot for this thread and I do not get bumped. I wondered if anyone was willing to share the details of any time they have spent in detention, how they were treated, the types of bail assigned to them, were they informed of their rights, did they have a lawyer automatically assigned to them, how long were they kept before they were made aware of bail, lawyer...how long did you spend there total, etc.
Does anyone have any experience with being swept up in a work place raid?
Obviously I will not use any people's names, but I do need the names of the detention centers, city, state, etc. And probably the year/month to give reference to the professor...he is a lawyer and I am unsure of his knowledge of immigration law...but it would be helpful.
All of our communications would take place via private email, so just send me a brief email through this site, and I will make contact with you...with a research paper I have to able to properly cite my information, and I would much prefer the email to referencing this website/forum...gets a bit personal if the professor comes and looks and sees my life splashed all over the place...know what I mean?
I would be sooo appreciative if anyone could help with this...
Juanita
