Hey everyone! Wow, I couldn't find ya for a while. It seemed like everytime I tried pulling up the site, well, it never would. Finally today I found ya. I had to re-register though, so I've went from Debbd26 to my name.

I hope everyone is doing well. Luis and I are doing wonderful actually. We ended up getting our Visa Bill and Affidavit of Support bill in, but we're holding out on paying them until around November or December. We're trying to buy as much time was we possibly can, because we know we're gonna get denied at first and they're gonna want 3 yrs of rehabilitation on his part before they approve us. So, hopefully by the time we do get to our interview, it'll be close to that 3 yr mark.

Well, I just wanted to say hi to everyone and I'm still praying hard for everyone! Good Luck and Best Wishes!!!

Deb

Thanks ya'll!!! :) I'm with ya Ratito....the new forum is AMAZING!!! (And Fast finally...hehehe)

I have a quick question.... Once Luis and I get our interview, what if the 3 yrs aren't quite up. By November (07) or December (07) when we send in the Visa Bill and Affidavit of support bill it will be 1 yr of rehabilitation. Then I'm figuring a couple months until we receive the actual applications, maybe around Feb (08) or March (08) . We can hol off on sending those back in until say December (08) or Jan (09), that'll be 2 yrs........then what if we get our interview in like 6-9 months after that....putting us 3-6 months away from the 3 yr mark???
It's horrible for my husband to have this record. I wish things could have been different. I wish that alcoholism didn't run in his family, and that he didn't end up suffering because of it.... I'm so thankful that he's received help and has recovered and is doing amazing, but it just stinks ya know???
We are forced to face 2 1st offense DUI's from 2004 and 2005 then in Jan 07 2 domestic, but that's kind of weird because they ended up combining them and in September the Judge said that as long as he sees that Luis has completed his 38 week counseling and recovery program, that the charge/s will be completely dismissed and dropped from his record. <------so will that end up affecting us since it's going to be dismissed and dropped anyway??? *sigh* All we can do is sit back, wait, pray and just take each day as it comes.
I've been "out of the loop" for a while, so if ya'll wouldn't mind, could yall give me some advice on this? Btw, we'll be hiring an attorney later on. There's just really no sense right now since there's nothing that we can do anyway....know what I mean?

Well, I have to get back to work, but I'll check back in tomorrow! Have a good night all! -Deb :)
