Hey guys I just wanted to share this because it's been weighing on my mind since it happened. These poor babies. There's so many things wrong with this. I mean who lets their toddlers play outside alone? Anyway it's very tragic. The guy whose car they were found in is a friend of ours. He has 3 little girls of his own and he is absolutely devastated.
Here's the story: Toddlers die from heat in car (http://hamptonroads.com/2008/06/social-services-looking-deaths-two-sisters-nc)
all I can say is be careful with the heat and your loved ones

This is so sad to hear.
It sounds like all of the children should have been removed. They should never have been outside playing without adult supervision.

I remember that too I still can't get that image out of my head. They sent out a search party and the boys were right there the whole time.
So hubby talked to his friend and he said that the girl was screaming at her kids before he left to go to his friends house. He said when they called him he came home they found them dead/non responsive in his car. So they were talking and he said that the mom is trying to say the 4 year old did it, but our friend says there's no way that the kid could have gotten the door open, on top of that they found the girls in the back seat of the car and they looked like they were "hiding". Hubby and I talked about it too and I happen to wonder if the mom just reached her breaking point.
It's a tragic situation.

OMG I cant imagine this. I have 3 boys and the oldest just turn 6 the second one is 3 and the other one is 2. I get so scare and paranoid when I dont see my kids and I scream thier names out. I just dont see them for a second inside the house and I stand up to look what they are doing. I am a mother that dont let my boys do nothing without an adult supervision. But a tragedy could happen in a second.

that's what I want to know. I won't even leave my dogs in the car with the a/c on let alone kids if I had any.

I have three daughters! They never even go outside to ride their bikes alone. I never let my children out of my sight! How could you not know where your children are for 2 hours? Social Services (How could you remove 2 older children and not 2 younger children?) Sometimes the courts and social services don't know what is going on. It sounds like they could have different fathers.
My two oldest children had supervised visits with their father and Social Services (for his oldest daughter not my child) let him have unsupervised visits of his other daughter. Doesn't make any sense!
God Bless those children! This makes me sick!

Sad story!
I don't ever let my daughter go play outside by herself but I know some of my neighbors do. I have two small kids that always come and ring my door bell asking if my girl can go play outside with them. I always tell them the same thing... She is too young to be playing outside by herself.
You know accidents can happen and you just never know. It's just too unfortunate. It seems like the mom already had trouble keeping her children with her. Nobody knows what really happened and sadly everybody is already blaming her for it.

^ :ditto:
I am the same exact way. If i can't go out there, she's not going out there. I know parents who leave their kids out all day every day..roaming the neighborhood.
