Hello, I never thought I'd still be here but I am. We are now waiting THREE YEARS AND TWO MONTHS for Islamabad waivers to be adjudicated in Rome!!!!!!!! In March they actually had "Ready for adjudication" on the website update for the first time. It stayed like that for 2 months. I called to verify this and they said they are ready. After 2 months of checking their dam list they went back to pending again!!!!!!! They did this to 7 other people. They dont answer my emails. They havent updated the dam list in almost a month. How much does a immigration atty charge for a writ of mandamus? I dont know of anyone else now waiting this long or ever before. I can't stand it anymore. In four years my husbands bar will be done. I think they're waiting for that to come. HELP!!!! How can they go from "Ready" to pending again? Do they know what they're even doing over there??!! How come congressmen and Senators help some in some states and here in WI they dont do anything more than I do for myself,,just tell me what I already know!??!!

One more question, since my husband submitted the waivers in May of 2005, I submitted 2 more letters or more since it was taking forever. Now I had enough and Im not sending them a dam thing. My question is, the original hardship letter was done over 3 yrs ago, so do they base their decision on that even though its 3yrs old or?? Hey its not my fault they are taking forever and I beleive they have to base their decision on all the information submitted no matter how old it is. That's their problem, not mine! They're not getting any other ANYTHING from me. Ive given them enough!!

Wow! Neverending, your position just sounds so awful.
I wish I could help, and I thought about not posting because I have nothing to add except my support. Your case is so sad that you deserve all the support you can get. I wish you the very best, and I wish a curse on any that impede your progress.

this is absolutely crazy. have you tried all senators and reps in Wisconsin? i actually thought you'd been done already since i come and go and miss a bunch of posts...i'm sorry to see you came by your screen name honestly...

i'm not sure of the cost of the writ, we'd considered it also, but since we are in-country, our lawyer advised not to go that route.

get hold of all of these people from your state and do not let up til they find out what is going on...

Senators Herb Kohl (D), Russ Feingold (D)

Representative(s) Paul Ryan (R), Tammy Baldwin (D), Ron Kind (D), Gwen Moore (D), Jim Sensenbrenner (R), Tom Petri (R), Dave Obey (D), Steve Kagen (D)

i wish you better luck here shortly!!!

I know how you feel, mine has been since Feb 2007 and nothing yet, all they say they are waiting for BGC from the US.

I am in the IT field and I know that it does not take that long to check on somebody’s record if you have a system...any system at all.

It does not matter how many they have to check or how many employees they have, its all about making us feel like we did the crime and we need to do the time.

Our lives are in God's hands not them, he knows better, and it must be for a good reason we just have to wait and see…

Or is there anything we can do?????????????????????????

That is absolutely ridiculous Neverending! There is no reason your waiver shouldnt have been adjudicated by now. I believe your case has fallen in the cracks somehow. You are for all intents and purposes, in limbo. I hope you hear something positive soon!!!

Oh, Neverending I'm so sorry! Is this the normal timeline for waivers that are filed through Islamabad/Rome??? I remember first joining this site almost 3 years ago and you were waiting then.

I just received a reply from Rome to an email I sent them a month ago. They now say "Please be informed that your husbands waiver case has been assigned to a immigration officer for review." FINALLY!!!!!!!!! Now how long do you think it will take to get an answer and how do they inform you of the decision once its made??? I will finally have an end to this immigration waiting hell!!!

They do have to consider the information as you presented it and they seem to take responsibility for "aged out" stuff.

If they need anything updated I'm sure they'll let you know. I wish you the best and hope they hurry WITH AN APPROVAL!
