I will be leaving in a couple of weeks to visit my husband and I have contacted the airline and mexican travel agency and got different answers. I am bringing for myself: proof of passport application, birth certificate, and DL. My sons will have their proof of passport applications and birth certificates. Will they need anything else since they have no photo ids??

You will need the
1. The receipt (proof) of the passport. This should have been given to you when you applied for your passport or you can get a new copy by going to http://travel.state.gov/

2. Legal photo ID - Drivers License, State ID - If your sons are old enough I would get them a state ID. This varies from state to state, but it would be good to have.

3. Certified copies or original birth certificate. Photo copies will not work.

4. If you have a father listed on the BC of your sons and he is not traveling with you...you need a letter stating it is ok for you to take them out of the country. Normally in my industry (cruiseline) this has to be notorized.

Thanks! I asked about the letter from my husband because last time I took one just in case and they said since he is already there I wont need it. I think I ought to take it anyways though, just in case.
