Things on the forum have been gravitating too much towards adult talk. And while we are all adults on the forum, this isn't the place for it.

That's the way we have decided to run the forum from the beginning. We have always been patient and taken the time to contact members and let them know that this or that behavior is not allowed.

Starting now, we will be giving out infractions after repeated offenses. I never wanted to have this happen but I don't see that we have any other choices when nothing changes after we approach people.

Some of the infractions do expires, some do not. After several (I think it's 3), you will be banned for a short time or permanently. Bans can last a few days, weeks or be permanent.

Things that will get you warned are:

- going around the profanity filter. There are other words you can use other than cuss words.
- sexual innuendos that go too far.
- personal attacks on other members.

And I'm sure there is more to the list.

Ya know what - this is a good thing. Sometime I read a thread thinking it's just a friendly discussion, and then I feel like I'm in some 'other' chat room that is someone just trying to 'hook up' with someone else... I think it's great to share problems and situations - but we're not here trying to find a date... friends yes, information definately... but not a sancha/o. I'm not trying to be a prude - but I totally agree with this!

Marie, I'm bumping this because everyone should read this! Just as much as they go read the *adult* threads. Anyhow...Marie you brought up a good point. Thanks for caring for us and all the great work that you do to help keep this site running smoothly. I'm very proud to be part of such a diverse forum and community. Sometimes I feel like I'm chit chatting with family and close friends.

Thanks again Site Pixie!!

Marie- I think you are absolutely right. As much as I like to enjoy good fun and sometimes adult fun...I think it's important to keep the content on here clean. The integrity of this site depends on it!! Thanks for the reminder! I'll surely be on my best behavior for now on.

I agree, sometimes funny talk turns to creepy talk!

I too totally agree with this, as I also like to have a little fun on innocent talk, I notice that lately the threads have change a lot, and is a reason why some people just don't want to comeback to the site at times.
I hope that this new measure helps keep the site the way that it should be.
Thanks Marie.

Althought i've personally only read one thread in which I felt like was completely inappropriate I too agree Marie. I normally don't read threads that aren't related to "immigration", but have on rare instances done just that. Maybe it's just i've gotten lucky enough not to have read the inappropriate threads before moderaters have deleted them.

Just like everyone else has said, this is not a dating site nor is it a gossip site. Were here for one purpose and thats immigration.

you know , this really chaps my hide. (it must be old timers again) by the time i hear about something , it is deleted and i feel left out in the dark. (inquiring minds want to know) ///what did i miss.?? oh-well ?? on with life. you could fill volumes with what i miss. i agree it has no place here. (wish i knew what i am agreeing to):shy::shy:

Well... while I agree with this warning and definitely the fact that this is not a place to have an adult conversation or post I also think that it is a good thing to talk to other things besides immigration.

You know this forum also helps people who don't have many close friends due to the fact that not too many people can understand what we are all going through.

I think being able to talk about other things is helpful to all of us as long as it is done in a respectful way.

that's just my opinion :D

"It is a good thing to talk about other things besides immigration"

Always in a respectful matter of course and without profanity or adult talk :D

Of course it is, and we need that support from our i2us pals. But it's not appropriate to be talking about some of the things i've read on this forum. One thread in particular I remember in vivid detail was quite disgusting and of poor taste.

I agree with you Marie I think they should have an infraction! I got one infraction because someone thought I said I was going to EWI my sister-in law! When i was just going to pick up my nieces! Some people knew what i was talking about and for some reason others understood it wrong! So I think people who say those bad things and disrespectful things should get some kind of infraction.

Thanks Marie, I totally agree. I have read a few different threads and was completely without words in fact quite suprised. I believe we are all here to learn as much as we can about the immigration process at least that is why I am here. And I do want to say thanks to everyone, I have learned so much here in the last 3 months!

yep, i've read some posts that i felt like reporting but didn't just cause i didn't want to bother the mods in case i was overreacting...

but it's good to have a clean support group, people to cheer you up if you had a bad day at work or something. i like the camaraderie here.
