Does anyone know of a place to rent a car in CDJ and if so have you done it?

What do I need to know about it? What do I need to have with me? Anything other then my drivers license?

I'm not so sure you'd want to rent a car over there...the drivers there are a bunch of lunatics. I grew up in El Paso and we used to always joke, "if you can drive in Juarez, you can drive ANYWHERE!" LOL It didn't change any when Eric and I went down to our appt. in NOV07.

The worst thing is for someone with no driving experience that's on the road that hits your rental car. You don't want to have to deal with Mexican police. If you're not going long distances, there's walking, taxis (short distances are prob going to run you $3-$7, not bad). There's also the ruta. We took the RUTA downtown. It was only like 40 cents. We had our truck, we just didn't want to drive it and risk a wreck.

You can rent cars at the CDJ airport, not sure how much it costs, but when we were there there were rental companies. I really liked having our own car there, we were able to go to soriana and other stores without paying for a cab. But lynette is right people drive like maniacs. Oh and if you're not going 2 seconds before the light turns green the whole line is honking at you, and I'm not kidding:)

Not near as bad as Miami where you best run the red light because two or three behind you there are expecting you to and if you stop, you're probably going to get rear-ended. I think the city began to crack down on this. You've got a lot of people that have just received a license and have never hardly driven before too! Whew!!!
