Thank you, but I don't think that will work. If all goes as planned my husband will be in the US tomorrow night and I have been checking the el paso website for flights for tomorrow night and so far I have found nothing, but did find one for Wed. at around 3:00 in the afternoon.

Last week when I called the 800# (i called like 4 different times) they all told me that the medical expires after six months now and not a year. So he takes his appt letter which states that he needs another exam and gets in line for the medical and they tell him that he does not need another one. So he shows them the letter and they still said he does not need one. So the dr that gave him his medical last year had to sign stating that he did not need another one, but this dr was at the consulate for a meeting this morning. My husband was told to come back to the clinic at 10:00 to see if the dr is their and if so he could get the note and go back to the consulate because they still accept paperwork for the visa up unitl 10:30. Well, the dr didn't show up until 11:30 so he has to go tomorrow between 7-9 for the visa. He said just think I could have been in the US today!!! I said after 17 months whats one more day and of course he agreed!

well i am sorry but the only closest airport is cdj or el paso otherwise it is a little ways away to find another airport.

If you are looking for major airports in the US that are close to El Paso, there aren't really any close to El Paso. Possibly Phoenix (about a 6 hour drive to EP), but the next major airport would be Dallas/Ft. Worth and that is about 10 hours driving time northeast of EP.

Southwest has frequent flights to/from the El Paso airport.

so does Frontier! You may have better luck calling the airline directly or using their website. Perhaps they could get him there on standby, it's worth a shot! Good luck. I am glad your hubby does not really need to redo the medical. Nobody wants to do that twice if they don't have too!

You could always have him take a greyhound to boulder, co or dallas texas. It is only a few hours from El Paso. That way he can get a flight out!

I'm in Boulder, CO right now and I can assure you that I am nowhere near El Paso AND there is no major airport here!

Maybe he will have more flight options once he gets to the airport. He went in this morning to turn in his passport and I am still waiting for him to call.

He is flying either to Akron or Cleveland Ohio. These two airports are about an hour away from each other.

Right now he is at the consulate picking up his visa. When he's done he'll call Alfredo then once he is in the US I will be able to see what flight he will be able to catch. I found a couple for 6:40 so we'll see how long it takes him.

El Paso is sort of in the middle of nowhere (I live here!) You're really going to have to wait til a flight becomes available or try and drive to Santa Fe or Phoenix which are both hours in the wrong direction (all small airports around here, Las Cruces, etc.) will be connecting thru EP anyway.)

Maybe he can try & fly standby? I know it's hard to be patient, but the hard part is over- he's on his way home to you! :yay: Just a little while longer....
