Applying for Social Security Number question?

Hello,

I have a simple question. When is my wife eligible to apply for a Social security number?

She has already done the biometrics appointment and is now waiting on the EAD card to be ordered/processed. Does she have to wait till she gets the work card or can she apply for SSN right now?

You have to wait until you get your EAD card. You have to show proof that you are allowed to work in the US. I don't think they accept an approval letter. My daughter applied for her SS# after she received her card.
