Our K-1 AOS interview is coming up and I have a few questions. I don't really see examples of K-1 AOS interview experiences posted on the forum. I've printed a list of sample questions for AOS interviews from the Visajourney site but still I feel a little nervous. I'm bringing everything to the interview that we ever used, thought about using, etc. for the applications and CDJ appointments. We should not be lacking in information but being back together for only a few months after a nearly 2 year separation has led us to re-learn many things about eachother and learn the new things about eachother as well since both of us had changed a bit during the stressful separation. Any advise for the interview would be greatly appreciated. And now, for my questions:

1. My husband speaks some English I can speak a good amt. of Spanish, will we still need a translator for the interview? I think we may need one so I will not be accused of "fluffing-up" my husbands answers.

2. We lived with my husbands brother and some friends for several months after being reunited. I am worried that during the interview giving the address or information about our prior residence may cause problems for my BIL and friends (all EWI's).

3. Are you told at the interview if your AOS is approved or not or is a reply sent in the mail?

4. Does the USCIS still give the I-551 stamp at the interview?

5. With the I-551 stamp can we "travel the World" or do we need to wait for the actual GC to arrive?

6. Are more ID photos taken of the AOS applicant at the interview?

7. Do interviews last more that 15 - 30 min?

8. Is there any reason we should be worried that the AOS will not be approved?

Thanks I think that is it for now.

1. My Husband Speaks Some English I Can Speak A Good Amt. Of Spanish, Will We Still Need A Translator For The Interview? I Think We May Need One So I Will Not Be Accused Of "fluffing-up" My Husbands Answers. i Believe People At Vj Take Their Own Translators. I Was Thinking Of Taking A Work Friend Of Mine Who Is Very Fluent In English/spanish. Sometimes It's Not Needed As The Io Speaks Sufficient Spanish.

2. We Lived With My Husbands Brother And Some Friends For Several Months After Being Reunited. I Am Worried That During The Interview Giving The Address Or Information About Our Prior Residence May Cause Problems For My Bil And Friends (all Ewi's). i Am Not Sure About This But I Don't Think It Will Cause A Problem. We Are Also Scared To Give Too Much Info About Some Of His Familly As They Are Here Ewi Too.

3. Are You Told At The Interview If Your Aos Is Approved Or Not Or Is A Reply Sent In The Mail? some Are Told But A Lot Are Not And They Ahve To Wait For Approval By Email (cris) Ormail.

4. Does The Uscis Still Give The I-551 Stamp At The Interview? some Offices Do But Not Many.

5. With The I-551 Stamp Can We "travel The World" Or Do We Need To Wait For The Actual Gc To Arrive? good Question, Not Sure.

6. Are More Id Photos Taken Of The Aos Applicant At The Interview? i Believe Not

7. Do Interviews Last More That 15 - 30 Min? they Can.

8. Is There Any Reason We Should Be Worried That The Aos Will Not Be Approved? i Really Don't Think You Will Have A Problem. Make Sure To Take Your Approval Letter Re The Waiver. A Friend Of Mine Didn't Do This And There Was An Issue. The Io Was More Worried About His Wife's Ewi Then Anything Else. He Later Had To Mail That Waiver Approval In And Call His Congressman.

Thanks I Think That Is It For Now.

Good Luck!!!

Question #5 - Can you travel the world with a I-551 stamp

While waiting for my CG, I received a I-551 stamp in my passport. I crossed the border everyday into Canada for my job. I never had a problem returning home with this stamp in my passport.

Well, after a bit more research I have found several bits-o-evidence that bringing an interpreter is necessary (thanks so much for your responses Pooh, VERY HELPFUL). I'm checking community colleges for potential students and instructors that would like to do this small job. Summer may be a good time for an AOS interview since most students/instructors are on vacation.
