it takes a while for them to schedule. i'm not the only one waiting--and it used to take much longer. it also depends on the country you're going through and the size of their embassy. take djones (guatemala) for example--case completed 4/15 and just scheduled last week. in fact, to be honest, i was really pushing it to expect an appt this time around.

I to am still waiting. I called this morning and they said he has not scheduled for July and that I needed to call back next month.:sad: I am going through El Salvador and I believe it is a longer wait than Mexico but not by much I hope!!!!

I called yesterday girls. I called twice because I didn't like what the first lady told me. I got a different answer from both people (as I have seen happen before). Ok, apparently they are not finished scheduling for JULY yet. The second lady told me to call back Friday, that perhaps the scheduling will be complete by then. It is different for each embassy, and she said that the embassy's capacity changes every month. I am dying to know if it is in July because I am in Jordan, I have a flight booked for July 7th, my husband wants me to change it if the interview will be in July so I can go with him, I don't want to spend $1000 to come back here in August for just a couple of days...

For CDJ my app was complete Dec. 10th 2007 and we were told anywhere from 3 to 9 months for our interview. It was set June 4th. So we waited about six months for the interview to be set. Just wanted to let you know what happened to us :)

that's very, very odd. people whose cases were completed in march and april have had their appts set for quite some time now.

Ok maybe I am mistaken. But his case was transferred from NVC to CDJ on Dec. 10th and they told us that everything was fine that we were just waiting for them to set the appointment. To be honest this whole thing confuses me. Everyone gets a different answer.

Our first appt. is July 14th. I called and was told that Aug. 20th was the first waiver appoint. But I see on here that people have gotten earlier appointments after I called. I am confused. Do you think it's possible to call and see if there is an earlier waiver appoint?

if you want to pay for the call, you can keep calling and see if there's been a cancellation earlier, but about a month is standard for the wait between the appts. i'm sorry you got the short end of the stick waiting since december for an appt--that is ridiculous.

Tasksgirl, I noticed you have a lot of different things in your signature, like an AOS bill, a 3032, and a couple other things that I haven't seen before. Are those something I should have done as well? My husband EWI, we got our 129 and 130 approved, and the 129 appointment got scheduled without me sending in anything else. Should I be worried?

Esposocita- you only need to send in those other forms if you are going the I130 route, if you are going with the I129f then you dont have to worry about them, though I think there are some forms you take with you to the actual appointment.HTH

Yes I hate NVC too... you know, i guess i've been lucky--never been laughed at, though i've only called twice. both times they were very nice and told me to call back at the end of this week...so i'll do that, and then if i have no appt by friday, i'll wait till the 2nd week of july (though i'll probably check in once a week till then just in case, and also i am NOT waiting till the 3rd week of july--i'll be calling every day during the 2nd week).

i told my husband about all this--bad move. now he's starting on with his it's never going to happen/i don't want to go/i guess i'll never see my mom again thing. i'm just going to keep my mouth closed, other than telling him that we're going to leave sometime between july 20 and 30 to see his mom since i figure that will be close enough, and i'll just spring it on him when i find out.

another reason i wanted to be scheduled now was to get the appt letter to have on our way out of the country. if we're scheduled in july, we're probably going to be leaving before we get the letter and we'll have to go a day early to cdj to go to the info window and get a copy...bah.

LOL i mean, i don't know what i'll be teaching in september. it'll be either 10th or 11th with perhaps a smattering of 12th mixed in, or it could be a mixed level class (high school spanish 1 and 2). i taught regular 10th and remedial 11th english this past year, and i've also taught freshmen once and hope to never have that experience again.

True.. my first year I taught first grade. That was a little young. I teach at an innercity school that has a 76% minority and 87% free and reduced lunch...so my babies are pretty street smart. They know what's going on in the world. They can inform me of things that I had no idea. But the best thing about it..is that they want to be there. They are excited because everytday that they come in I am there. For some of them I am the only constant in their lives. They have no idea who will be at there house (if anyone) when they get home. That's why I love the babies...lol they still need me. Maybe it's a selfish thing !!!

I'm about to file a simple 130, no waivers or anything, but was recommended to check this forum for most current info on CDJ's current appointment wait times.

Apparently, whether 601 or not, it's the same? Your first appointment is a typical IV appointment - right?

On another site's timelines I was seeing 9-12 mo. waits for CDJ interviews (after leaving NVC) in the past year. But from decoding your various signatures here, it seems to have really improved!

So, am I correct in surmising that CDJ currently has about a 3 month wait? That's great, if so. Hope they can keep it up 1

it's like this: you know when something really terrible happens, for example, you break up with boyfriend that you truly loved, and someone tries to make you feel better by being like, oh, well, imagine all the people who are married with kids and have years and years together and THEN break up... is their situation worse? of course. does it make you feel any better? not one bit. trust me, we all know how things used to be--some of us, myself included, have been around here for a WHILE now and i remember and still ache for what people used to go through, esp in the pre-pilot program days...BUT that doesn't make me feel better right now since there are people completed in may and scheduled and then others completed a couple of days later who aren't.

I feel so excited to have succeeded in getting him on the internet at all! He can't get enough of youtube. He loves listening to music and searching for favorite videos. When he's on the computer, it keeps me from being on I2US.

I'm so proud of him for taking the first step to getting comfortable on the computer. I don't want to get him addicted to I2US! I can't imagine having to compete for computer time with him when we are both at home!!!

LOL mr. jsierra loves looking up animal videos too! though he likes stuff like lions taking down all kinds of bloody prey...he also likes looking up dance videos and before we got cable, he liked going to the telemundo and univision sites to check up on his novelas. he never used a computer before he met me, and after i showed him the basics, he just started learning on his own. one day, i came home and he had hooked it up to the stereo and was blaring music from this streaming music site. now he wants me to teach him to use itunes and i said no, or i'll have like a $200 bill.

Seriously though, Mr.Soon-to-be-Needinfo (cause we are just engaged so I had to amend his name) was another one of those who had never used a computer before getting with me.

Isn't it just amazing what they can do when they have the opportunity?!? Although they were all EWI, we're here to help them out! They took the first step to making their lives better, and we're just giving them the "credentials" to continue down the path to fulfilling their potential!!!
