Hello...

My husband requires an FBI fingerprint check to determine whether or not in 2000 (when he was 17 y/o) was a catch and release (from mexico) or some kind of deportation proceeding.

More than likely it was a catch and release but we've been advised that it's necessary to do a fingerprint check to confirm...our FOIA has already taken 4 months and I don't have much hope in it confirming anything...

Does anybody know how we can have an FBI fingerprint check done? He's in the US..

Please advise...

Dont 'worry' about not hearing anything on your FOIA. Those requests can take up to a year to process. The FBI check should only take a couple of months though.

We felt confident enough after recieveing 'no record' on our FBI check that we filed the I130 and are really still waiting for the FOIA (filed in september 2006). Although we were also advised that something could still 'pop' up - we figured it is a chance we will take - and we had been waiting for 8 months already to start this lengthy process.

Good luck to you!!!
