View Full Version : messed up
Well guys we went to the medical on Friday and then to the first appt on Monday well after 7 hrs of waiting I screwed up I did not check over everything and recheck. They told husband that his BC was not good enough because his birth was not registered until 97 and he was born in 1980 so we have to find baptismal records for him, they did not have and deportation order on file for him either so did I get a copy and have it in the file....No of course not. Did the lawyer.....No of course not. How could they not have a record of him being deported he even showed them the FBI fingerprints that we did from here and they said they want the court records.
He did have a lady who he said was very nice to him so that was for sure a good thing. then they wanted proof of our relationship well guess who was outside with the proof yes me and did husband and I think about that no the lady asked him if he had love letters that he wrote me anything he said no we see each other everyday so why would i write her:)
So now we are on the hunt to get this info and get it to the consulate she did give him a number to call and then he could bring it to them. They kept the xrays and did the fingerprints so maybe by the time I get it all back togeather they will have some of their info. I will post his medical later

HELP!
My SO was born in 1980, but his birth wasn't registered until 1986. Do you think I need to take preventive measures here?
If so, what do I need to get?

Sorry ccdc - at least you have a good amount of time to get this taken care of before the waiver appointment. That is crazy about the deportation.

Hey Laura I think I have the same peoblem when I went to get my passport they told me that they could not give it to me for 3 or 6 yrs cause on my BC it showed that I was registered two yrs later. so they asked me for a copy of my mother's or fatrher's birth cert or an older brother's could that be used if I were to have a problem at my Med Exam? what options did they give you? and I'am sorry to hear that.

ccdc,
Sorry to hear that your 1st interview didn't go smoothly, but I'm sure you'll be able to compile all the necessary documents :)
For everyone that's asked what they need if the applicant was registered years after their birth: when my husband applied for his passport, they noted that he was registered over 1 year of birth, so he needed some extra documents to get the 5-yr passport. This is the list they gave him (he only had to get ONE of these):
He got his baptismal record and certificate of elementary school, but was only asked for 1 proof.
Hope this helps... sorry if it's in spanish :shy:

That is EXACTLY what I needed.
Even better that it is in Spanish. My SO will be able to tell his mom EXACTLY what is needed to get the passport for five years.
