Hello. I don't know of anybody, sorry. Without asking questions regarding personal information, could you say which type of school he follows, cognitive therapist, behavioral, etc. Why do you feel you're not getting the type of help you so desire? Is it his manner of therapy...there's some therapists that will nod their heads and listen and give a shoulder to cry on. There's some that are going to point blank tell the patient how they fix their situation and some patients don't like that and think that the therapist isn't helping them.
Do not take it that I'm saying that's what's happening in your case. I've only said it because I've heard of that happening a lot.

Are you saying that she's more of a *listener* than one that would be trying to find a *solution* to your problem? Do you feel you're not getting enough feedback from her? Can you explain what type of feedback you need? Advise to fix some problems you have, to really find a solution? Or ,from her, are you needing consulation in a compassionate way when you talk with her? I'm not sure exactly what you're wanting and what you feel you're not receiving. There are several types of therapists out there that follow different schools of though. I'm not as up on this as I used to be but I think a cognitive therapist is going to try to find a solution to the problem. He won't let a patient cry on his shoulder without finding a way to fix it or at least find the best way for the patient to deal with the situation irregardless if the patient likes the result or not.
I did have one session with one like this and he told me that he used to practice by another manner but he's following the cognitive manner now. He told me that there are ways to deal with any situation and he said that a lot of patients don't like the answers he gives because it forces them to have to do something about their problem and when they have an alternative, he said that many of them don't want that, or don't want to hear it. He was upfront about his approach to counseling.
If you're not feeling satisfied then you're doing the right thing about searching for another. Remember this is a business like anything else and they want to retain their patients. But it's your money you're spending and you should find one that better suits your needs. That's the problem, hard to find if you have no referrals from anybody. Maybe you could call some immigration attorney offices and ask them if they can give you a name of whom they might refer their clients to.
