Hi everyone. I need help figuring out which forms I need to fill out. My husband just became a US citizen a few weeks ago...YEA!!!:bounce: Well his mother and step-father both have vistor's visa and live in Tijuana. He wants to file for them to get their LPR. What forms to we have to fill out for them? Is it possible for my husband to file for his step-father? He and his mother were married in 1991 when my husband was about 11 or 12 years old. Please I would very much appreciate any advise on what to do. Thanks :)

Hi!
Congrats on your husband's Citizenship!

As far as your question, I have been looking into that for my uncle...
Your husband would have to send in one I-130 for his mother and one for his stepfather (yes, if the they were married before your husband turned 18, then he is considered a stepfather, and a stepfather is considered an immediate relative, just like the mother).
Then, the I-130 would be sent to NVC (National Visa Center), then once approved, they would send it to the Consulate serving the Tijuana area.
Your in-laws would have to go over to the consulate to complete processing.

Like I said, I had the same question for my uncle, and aussiewench gave me some links that were really helpful:

There are filing instructions for when filing for a step-parent here (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=01b6194d3e88d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=4f719c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD)

Submit them together and they should stay together and be processed together.
