Hello everybody. I'm happy to "join the club". It is nice and very sad to see that so many people are in a similar to my situation. My hubby got deported in May 2007 to Belarus for overstaying his J-1. We have two small children together. After he got arrested I filed I-130 and I-129, got them both approved, now we're waiting for his interview on July 7 in Warshaw Poland, where he also going to drop off I-601 and I-212. I was wondering if anybody did there waivers trough Poland? How did it go? How long did it take?
Thank you all.

Welcome Marivladi,

If your hubby was deported to Belarus I'm assuming he's from Belarus, why is your waiver going through Poland then, shouldn't it go through Belarus.

Yes he's from Belarus. He went on the interview in Minsk on March 6 2008, but they didn't give him an answer, sent him home. Later on the Embassy closed due to some diplomatic issues between Belarus and USA, so they transffered his file to Poland.

You can PM Samantha. She is right now in Poland and she dropped her I-601 two weeks ago. Your waiver will go from Warsaw to Vienna and you will have to wait 6 months for the answer. Do you have very good hardship letter? Do you have a lawyer? Vienna is not too hard but you need to have a very strong hardship letter and a lots of evidence. It is very important to be good prepared.
You can ask any question here and people will help you. This is wonderful side and people here are very helpful. We understand each other.
I wish you the best !!!
