Mix the ketchup, brown sugar and bourbon. You can cook it a little first before adding the sausage or when I am in a hurrry I throw it all in there.

Slice the sausage into bite size pieces and add it into the sauce. You can cook it on medium until it boils, then simmer it for a few hours until the sauce cooks down. I like mine "saucy" and my sister cooks hers until it is thick.

Are these sweet sauages or does the sugar cook out of them? Just wondering because they sound good but mostly my husband likes spicy as a opposed to sweet. Thanks
