How long does it take for the status to adjust from asylee to getting a green card?
we applied (for green card) in like 2002, and it is getting really frustrated for us. We have also gotten a lawyer since last year but the USCIS has still not sent our resident cards. While they have not refused to us, they keep stalling by asking for biometrics over and over again, or sending meaningless letters stating (yes we have received your application). We have been waiting for almost 6 years now. This lawyer that we just hired, also is trying her best. I wonder what is the reasoning behind this? This is getting really hard on us, becasue I am almost 21 but I still can't get an ID card or a driver's licensee or do anything productive (i.e employment). My sister also does not get financial aid from her school. Needless to say, we'd like a chance to live a normal life and breath... any suggestion? Please help me (either here or email me).
