If one was to come into the country when he or she was a baby, and then a few years later he or she receives an SSN...what does this mean, that that person is a USC or not a USC??

If this does not show or prove citizenship (receiving the SSN) then why have they got one in the first place? or how did one get one in the first place?

I'm curious...:innocent:

thanks

My husband also has a ss # it was issued to his father back in the early 90s they gave ss#s back then but they do not do that anymore. I called the ss admin to see if it was a itin or a ss# explained that I just wanted to make sure it was real and that was the explanation she gave me. It gives him no status or benefits what so ever.
