I saw this yesterday and though I am a fan of the series, I wasn't all that excited to see the movie.

I LOVED it. I laughed, I cried. I thought it was funny and touching. I saw it alone on a rare weekday off. I got a pedicure and saw a movie while my oldest was in school and the babies were with a sitter....it was like a mini-vacation! I am dying to find someone else who saw it so I can dish.

It was a total chick-flick... I love those when I am in the mood.

Spoiler Alert: Do NOT continue to scroll if you don't want plot, storylines, etc....

Can you believe that Carrie went back to BIG??? I don't buy it.

And does anyone else here love Steve? I am a big fan..... my favorite men on the show were Aidan, Steve and Charlotte's mensch of a husband.

My girls and I went to see it on Friday night, and LOVED it!! It was sooo funny, and had its sad moments... specially when Carrie calls Mr. Big when he doesn't show up at their wedding and he tells her "I can't do it" omg, I 'almost' cried!

NYCwife: I can't believe she went back to Big either, that was not how I thought it should end... specially after he stood her up. Also, can't believe that Samantha left her hottie Smith in LA. I did love that Charlotte was pregnant (absolutely love her) and that Miranda and Steve were back together.

I saw the movie Friday....I loved it! I thought it was good. I'm glad she got with Big! They were made for each other and they both knew it! No matter what problems they had, they were for each other. I felt bad for Samantha! I think she should just be a porn star! ha ha

I am glad she ended up with Big too. I mean, it was definitely shady of him to not show up, but in reality it was a momentary lapse, and Carrie did, admittedly, make the wedding into something neither of them had planned. It was no longer about them... you know, which is how so many weddings are. And Miranda, you know, that was a really bitter comment to make at a very bad time.

Anyway, I thought it was a great 2+ hour indulgence, and was happy with all the stories.

I wish they still had the series!!! :)

:ditto: As I was watching the movie, it felt so weird that the storyline didn't end 30 minutes later.

:fright: Spoiler lines ahead :fright:

I loved this movie! I am exactly the opposite, I CANNOT believe she spent six months away from him! It was a momentary lapse, he was going the WRONG WAY on a one-way street! They should have gotten in the car together, went back and walked into that church hand-in-hand, then we would have gotten to see them happy (for the first time in years) together. . .there was enough conflict otherwise to hold the movie together, however

loved how Charlotte's water broke, LOL :-)

If you've read this far into the thread, you obviously don't care about spoilers.....

Oh man.. I found it a little strange that Miranda's bitter comment would affect Big to such a degree that he would do what he did. I don't think it was a momentary lapse, he had been wavering since the evening before. He had been wavering since "the dress upped the ante".

I think that Carrie getting upset over Miranda's comment was overblown. Miranda didn't cause Big to be an ass. It was his excuse to be an ass, maybe. If I were in Carrie's shoes, I wouldn't be mad at Miranda.....she didn't cause Big's decision. I would be a little angry that she took so long to clue me in, but it is clear to me that she is not responsible for how he behaved.

Now with Steve, on the other hand (I am so partial to him), he was totally up-front with Miranda, afraid of losing her and seemed to be truly sorry for what he did. I think it would be hard to forgive a man in this situation, especially without seeming to come off as a weak woman, but I was so happy to see her come to her senses about the situation. He has, over and over, proven to be a stand-up guy.

If you were a fan of the series, my favorite scene is when he and Adain show up at Miranda's mother's funeral. It just goes to prove my thesis, that people show you who they are. (yes, I do know that I am talking about fictional characters)

I saw the movie last weekend with the girls! We took premixed pepsi & rum (complete with ice cubes) in a Sigg bottles! We laughed, cried, laughed and had a blast!

Leaving the theater we walked down the Drive and when the 3 of us were crossing the street, my dear friend Jacquie slipped/tripped/fell :oand broke her foot! She was wearing a pair of spectacular shoes in honor of the film! Clearly she had one too many or one not enough!:D
