How much notice did you have before your appointment? For some reason, I'm thinking there are one or two of you who got zero notice at all, and you had to reschedule the appointment. How do I keep that from happening to me? Is there a website to check or something? Thanks ladies!

Hi Corazoncita, as far as I know all the interviews are for the following month are (usually) listed on the embassy's website. The only problem with that is that it might be only two weeks until your interview by the time it's posted on the website. I would say if you know that your case is complete at NVC and you're checking the website that's the least amount of notice you'll have - unless they decide not to post the appointments for some reason, which happened in March, but then you can just email and they'll respond pretty quickly.
We did miss our first K-3 interview because we were notified late but I wasn't even expecting it and hadn't been checking the website or anything. For the I-130 interview, our case was complete on 4/22, we got notice of the interview last week (I can't remember which day but it's in our big Honduras thread) and the appointment is 6/4 - so roughly 2.5 weeks notice by mail.
Hope that helps!

I was assuming she was talking about the visa interview at the embassy when you're going the I-130 route. Corazoncita, is this correct? Or were you talking about something else?
I have heard of interviews before approval of the I-130 but only as a rumor - can't think of anyone who actually had to go to one.

One of my friends had an actual I-130 interview. At the interview, the husband was detained due to an outstanding order of deportation. This would probably be the only reason they would call you in for an interview unless there was a reason for them to suspect that the marriage was a fraud.

Actually, now that you mention it, Klame, that sounds familiar - word on the street was if they requested an interview prior to approval it was only to deport the applicant and they should return to thier home country voluntarily and say that they were unavailable for the interview here in the US so as not to be deported.
Of course, corazoncita, since your husband is already gone, none of this would apply to you.

Yep, wanaads-- you're right! I was talking about the interview once the I-130 was approved. You know, the one where we have to go to Tegucigalpa and they give our hubbies the 10 year ban? I didn't know what that interview was actually called. But yes-- you got the picture! Thanks for all the info! That is very helpful for me....
