Hey everyone! I got a letter today from USCIS. It says: "Please be advised that the waiver application filed by you for inadmissibility under section 212(a)(9)(B)(i)(II) of the Immigration and Nationality Act has been approved. The United States Embassy / Consulate in Colombia is being notified of this action."

And then it continues with some buzz-killing stuff about how the approval gives no assurance that you will automatically be found eligible for visa issuance, yada yada. But still. OUR WAIVER WAS APPROVED

Oh, and just thought I'd add some info others might find helpful, a (rough) timeline

February 2007: Filed I-129F
Mid-March 2007: I-129F approved and sent to Colombia
August 19, 2007: First Interview at Consulate
October: Decided to hire Laurel to do the waiver
Dec. 4, 2007: Filed the waiver in Bogota
Dec. 31, 2007: Date of receipt in Panama
May 15, 2008: Waiver approved

So that means that processing time for us in Panama City was exactly 4 1/2 months. Great news for everyone, no?

OMG Olafgypsy! I am sooo happy for the both of you! Actually I am ecstatic :yay2:. And in only four months! As you know I am leaving Sat. for my interview with my husband in Bogota, where we will be turning in the waivers right there and then. They are all done and ready to be turned in. God willing we will be approved also. See did'nt I tell you not to be negative. Great news for you. The good news is that it only took four months which is great. Hopefully we will have the same luck. Well, I will let sign in later and let you guys know how the interview went. Again, congrats to you and to everyone else who has been approved and God bless!

Thanks everyone! And LatinLaw we will arrive in Colombia at almost exactly the same time . . . in fact, I'm at the airport right now (4:30 a.m. in the morning, to be exact) waiting to get on the plane. Planned this trip back when I thought we probably wouldn't hear anything 'til August and couldn't bear the thought of not seeing each him for almost a year. Now it appears we should have waited and saved the money for a plane ticket for him :bounce:
