View Full Version : How to Cancel G-28
Ok, I have a question. My brother-in-law and his wife are just starting to go through this whole process. Well they got this lady to help them with the I-130 and when she submitted it, she also submitted a G-28. Now I told them that I can help them and there's really no reason for them to pay an attorney but how do we cancel the G-28. They don't have a contract with the attorney or anything, they were kind of just paying per service she provided them. Does anybody know how to do this? NVC wouldn't even talk to them when they tried to call because they said they could only talk to the attorney.

If the petition is now at NVC, I found the following on the DOS site.
What do I need to do to remove an attorney from my case?
If you no longer wish to utilize an attorney as your representative, please contact the National Visa Center (NVC) in writing.

When NVC is notified in writing they will need to include the NVC Case Number (a number assigned by NVC that will begin with the letters designating the Consulate), the petitioner and beneficiary names and respective dates of birth.
