Hello to Everyone! I just have to say that I am so addicted to this website! I enjoy reading everyone's personal experiences and the valuable input everyone gives to one another. I have a series of several questions. First off, my husband and I have an appointment with a bilingual immigration attorney this Friday in order to determine how we should proceed with my husband's case. Living in the shadows of society and being the spouse of an EWI takes its toll on many aspects of our lives as you all can relate. My husband has so many ambitions of learning even more English and continuing his education in the U.S. We will be having our third child in December and life is getting even more challenging because of the current anti-immigrant attitude in our part of the U.S. Therefore....we are at the point where we are willing to take a HUGE risk by sending his case to El Salvador for further processing. My first question is in regards to which form I need to send in for processing outside of the U.S.? Next, can someone explain to me a little further the purpose of the I-129F in regards to a spouse? Is it for the purpose of speeding up the process for an appointment (where they tell us he will have the 10 year bar applied for his illegal presence) or is it to speed up the process of my husband's case (the approval or denial of an I-601)outside of the U.S. once an I-601 is filed? I am a little foggy in this area for some reason. I have already began to brainstorm of possible ideas for the I-601 hardships but I will save that for another blog. Also, is the hardest part of this process the waiting for an I-601 to be accepted???:bye: Thank you to anyone who is willing to offer me any nuggets of wisdom!!!!

Welcome. Good luck with your immigration journey.

We lived for 20 years in the greater Cinti area. A wonderful place to raise a family.

The short answer to both of your questions is Yes....

Is it for the purpose of speeding up the process for an appointment (where they tell us he will have the 10 year bar applied for his illegal presence) Yes.

Also, is the hardest part of this process the waiting for an I-601 to be accepted??? Yes.

Hi mamita, and welcome! Pinkpig responded to your questions above, but I also wanted to clarify that there does not seem to be any way to speed up the processing of the I-601, which is why it's the hardest part. You turn it in and then wait and wait and wait for your fate to be decided. Those processing out of Mexico have the Pilot Program, but for the rest of us it will be many, many months of waiting and being separated from our loved ones with no guarantee that they will be able to return. It's a difficult choice, but nearly all of us here have decided it's worth it to have the chance to live legally in the US with our families with no more worries about ICE raids and bad SSNs and all that stuff. Best of luck to you! And again, welcome!!
