I'm just trying to come up with a list of those that are currently in removal proceedings... Please let me know, I would love to start a new thread with all the stats for each one so that we can keep up with each other since we are just a few and spreaded all over the forum!!
Please provide date entered into removal proceedings type of relief that you are applying for and where you are now in your case.
Thank you!!! :p

I was placed in removal proceedings on July 27th 06.
The type of relief I'm applying for is adjustment of status through mariage to a USC.
I'm presently waiting to do my fingerprints for GC on June 3rd.

My dear husband was in removal proceedings when we got married! (We started dating in '03 and he was picked up in '05.)
I've been trying to follow your case, Caribbeanman, 'cause it seems awfully similar to what we're going through. It doesn't seem as if there are very many of us.
It's been more than seven months now since we filed the i130, and as far as we know, it still hasn't been transferred to the local office. This is going to take a very, very long time, I'm afraid. What sucks is that we moved to Texas last year (for my job), and my husband's been unable to get a driver's license or anything here b/c they are incredibly strict about the documentation (we've tried *everything*). And for a guy who's got a lot of nomad in his blood -- for real! his father's side of the family is Bedouin -- that's been the toughest pill to swallow. Poor guy. Hey, but at least he has a bike. :)

So right after I posted that and my timeline came up, I realized that my husband had that unpleasant run-in with ICE at the beginning of 2006, not in 2005. My, how time flies. If only I could say the same thing about time at the Vermont Processing Center. :waiting:

Here are the dates for my husband:
July 1989: EWI
September 2007: thrown into removal proceedings (I think, don't have the letter, that is with the lawyer) :dunno:
November 2007: married
Our main form of relief is Adjustment of Status through marriage to USC; however, we have also applied for Cancellation of Removal.
We are presently waiting for for VSC to process the I-130...:waiting:

Caribbeanman and Jveli:
Should I be worried that my husband hasn't had a biometrics appt. yet? I noticed on your timelines that you've moved along on that front. And what exactly *is* the biometrics appt.? Just fingerprints and a photo? I think my husband gave all that when he was in detention for those wretched days. Would he need to do it again?
Think I'm going to send a note to our lawyer about this and see what she says. Of course, she's kind of slow on the responding part. And it is a holiday weekend. Argh.

Hi Katy,
Yes the biometrics is just fingerprints and a photo.
You would not get that not until the I-130 is approved and your lawyer files a copy of the I-485 application together with the fees.
What you husband gave was just for the detention part of his process.I did that also.

Ok I was place on Removal proceedings on sep 1998 but my case never made to court until 2007 , when I had the interview for adjust status with my wife USC. Went to court and on the first hearing the judge terminate removal proceedings. Now court was done on sept 26, 2007 I am waiting for my file to be transfer back so my adjust can be approve. But this waiting is killing me slowly.
The good thing is that for the last 10 year I been having work permit , social, and I been available to work
For all you people let's be positive the day that we are waiting for is coming.

Please keep in mind that the biometrics appt. in my signature is for the Cancelation of Removal, not a I-485.
I think the government would find any reason to collect more money. I often wonder how many times they have to do this...

my wife was under proceedings... she was a minor when her parents ewi around '90... We're seeking adjustment thru marriage + 245i (hence trying to adjust here). Our I130 was finally approved~!!
Jveli, is your husband also 245i? Just wondering because you filed for canc. of removal. My lawyer didn't mention about c of r, I think we're just going to adjust thru the court. Let's hang in there guys...

James- Yes, my husband is using his 245 benefits. Well, I am unsure why your lawyer didn't mention it, but with us, the DOJ Judge told us that we had to file for all forms of relief available to us at the same time. Our lawyer told us it is different with each judge, and the one we got assigned is known as the B*#%^. Of course, luckily in our interactions with her, and from what I have watched from the gallery she didn't seem that way to me. She just appeared professional in her mannerisms. But last time, I would sworn she had been slightly flirting with my husband because when they ask you to state your date of birth and age, and he said 41, she did a double take at him and the paperwork and said, "wow, I never would have thought that, you look very young for your age" and all of this with a huge smile on her face and such a friendly voice...definitely not the "I'm all business voice" I had heard her use before.

jveli, so you filed for cancellation and AOS(I485)? that sounds like a good idea, for at least you'll get one of them approved right?

I am hoping so. I pray that when we go back she remembers him. He honestly is quite handsome, but not in this stuck up, papi chulo way, just natural. And when he has his hair (facial too) nice and neat, straight from the barber...wow...hmmm. She can flirt, but he's mine.

Yes, it is a good idea, and most people have more than one form of relief available to them, it is just that most judges don't force you to file for all available forms all at once. Although I must say that she was very impressed with our work. We saw her first on December 4th 2007 when she asked for all of this, and by January 24th when we saw her again, we had two very large applications/petitions ready for her, with all the supporting evidence, and she said, "Wow, I only wish the rest of the attorneys and clients when they came before me were this well prepared". We did such a good job, she decided to only focus on the I-130 for right now and gave us until October 2008 before we have to go back.
However, technically, at this point, the only things we have filed is our I-130 and the Cancellation of Removal. We will not file the I-485 until after our I-130 is approved. When you are in removal proceedings you have to take things one step at a time.

I'm very new here and really think this is the best place to be if you need an immigration question answered. Thanks to all of you contributing here!!
I've been on order of supervision sinceAugust 2004. I was suppose to be deported since but I'm still here. I have an I-130 petition filed on my behalf (my mom PR) since Aug 2000. I hope my I-130 will be aproved prior to being deported. I have no criminal record and had my work authorization renewed every year so far. I entered US as a visitor, in 1989 and left for 6 wks on parole, in 1994. While here I graduated college and right now I'm working on my masters. So those of you that are immigration experts can you please elaborate to what my chances are being able to adjust in US once my visa becomes available? thanks

Hi teuta,
Welcome to the forum! :D I have a couple a questions that can help us better understand your situation... What is your status as of now? (overstay, visitor visa?) Has there been a final order of deportation?

Order of supervision is when you have to report to an immig. officer every on regular basis. Mine is every 3 months. I wonder if anybody else has to do same thing?
