Am I the last one to know that the Islamabad CIS office is shut down or is getting shut down?

Canuhandleit was sort of our resident expert on Islamabad and he has not been on for a while.

I don't remember anyone on this site mentioning this...

So you are the first to know.

When was the last time that office was staffed? And haven't all their waivers been forwarded to Rome? Is this a surprise? :D

canu - the DHS office and consulate are separate entities. The DHS office which does the waivers and other USCIS (INS) functions, hasn't had an officer in ages, but the embassy (which is part of the Dept. of State, not DHS) grants visas and is running as usual (presumably). How is everything going?
