I wish you the best. Just don't leave anything out in car, cuz it will chg owner quick. Rosarito is awsome, I lived there for 1 yr. & I try to go back as much as I can. Do you have children and are the excited.:grinning:

Hello Susycal,

Just a question, do you have housing there already or are you renting?
Are you going to work like in San Diego or something...
The reason I ask is because my husband and I are concidering to moving to TJ as well....

Thanks,
Nadia

Hi, I live in the central valley of CA and my husband is living in Tj while we wait for the decision on our MTR. It was the best thing for us, even though going back and forth is hard. We spent the whole summer together because I am a teacher, now I am back at work and I try to go once a month at least. It is hard because I have 2 kids. Good luck!

We found our place in the newspaper: http://www.frontera.info/

Where abouts do you want to live?

Also, if you are planning on crossing the border and not spending hours in line...be sure to apply for SENTRI "trusted traveler program": http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/trusted_traveler/sentri/faqs/sentri_online_app.xml

Hi Susy,

My husband has been in TJ for about 8 months now, and im in LA. I have too considered to move in with him and find a decent paying job possibly in San Diego, but im hesitant because I'm hoping for an approval "pronto". good luck and please keep us posted on how it goes with your new life.

That is what I am worrited about too...
I mean, what if we move there and we spend all this $$$ relocating, then we get our approval.....
I don't know, I guess we have to really think about it.

Susy, did you have to sign a long term lease on the house or are you taking it month by month?

Frontera is a great source. Craigslist not so good. The main thing in TJ is which "colonia" you live in and the quality of housing/neighborhood can vary greatly. It also depends on what you're used to. Honestly, I hate TJ at this point. It's probably because I associate it with the fact that we're still going through this process. I go down there every weekend and stay with my wife and kid.
The worse things about the city, in my opinion, is that the amount of dirt/dust that floats around all freaking day and the way people drive. People down there drive like savages so be prepared. It makes the worst US city look like angelic drivers. People cut you off left and right, don't signal, and will RARELY, if ever, let you get in front of them. You pretty much have to cut people off yourself in order to get anywhere. Just my 2 cents!:)

NO ITS A MONTH TO MONTH, AND TRUST ME I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THAT BUT HEY! EVEN IF HE GETS APPROVED WE WILL PROBABLY STAY THERE FOR SOME TIME UNTIL WE FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO.......MAYBE HE CAN COMMUTE TO SAN DIEGO TO WORK WITH ME.
