my husband is leaving to mexico sunday 5/18/08. his 1st interview is on the 21st. i would like to know what happens during that first interview. he came to the U.S. when he was 16 in 1996. he tried coming in when he was 14 but got "thrown back". Do you think that it would count against him? would he get a ban? And for his 2nd interview which is on july 11, where would he have to go to for that? Please help im going crazy. I wish there was a way i could help him, or atleast know that it is a garantee that he is coming back. im feeling desperate please help

This thread needs to be moved to general questions, hopefully someone will see it and move it soon. . .
He only has one successful entry from 1996 and no exit/reentry??

welcome j.hdz - have you heard of the I-601 waiver? You made a second appointment, so you must have some idea, but in order to get him back after the July interview you need to have a really strong waiver packet that documents the extreme hardship you will suffer if he is barred for 10 years.
For the visa interview, make sure he is prepared to explain that he attempted to enter the U.S. once at age 14, then gave up until 2 years later. It could be a problem if they believed he had been here from age 14 to 16, then he left and re-entered and has been here since.
Otherwise, you really need to start reading the "sticky" posts in this part of the forum. If you have a strong waiver packet he can be back in July but otherwise it would be a 6 months to a year.
There is a guide in my signature that will help you out.

Oh, and there is no guarantee he is coming back, but if you get a strong waiver together for him before July 11, you have an excellent chance!

His 2nd appt (I601 waiver) on July 11, he'd return to same place CDJ consulate. He can go on 10th to information window btw 7-10am they can advise him where and what he needs. I think he may need DS 230 (not to sure). Good luck
