Ok, so yesterday hubby called the Atlanta office like 4 times. They finally said that he could show up this morning without an appointment. He was told to bring evidence that proved the urgency of his case. So basically I brought everything I had. They took the info printed from the NVC site, the 1335 section. I didn't think it exactly showed urgency, but it was good enough for them.

SIX hooooouurrsssssssss later we had a passport. They told us to get there at 8am, but I believe this is unnecessary because if you get there at 11am you will be seen at the same time as anyone else who comes without an appointment.

Anyway, there appears to be some kind of business surrounding the consulate. A group of entrepeneurs for lack of better word will try to sell you on buying passport photos for 10.00, parking for 6.00 (which we paid) and photocopies for 0.25 a piece. Inside the consulate photos are 12.00, and I believe photocopies are 0.12 a piece. Also, if you want tamales they serve those, too. :D

I preferred using the consulate services myself.

Anyhoooo, we got his passport and we're mailing the package Monday!!!! Yay! Thanks to everyone!!!

Great news! See? I knew everything would work out. Sorry it took so long. People will try to make money off of anything.

Speaking of "businesses"-- outside the consulate in Juarez people sell everything from pens to gum to hammocks. Oh, and there are also three foot tall crucifixes if you want to buy them as well. How random.
