Hello All!!!
I have a friend whose husband had a pending case of AOS through his employment filed 6 years ago...He got married 2 years ago (I think!), and his wife was a citizen.
Since his employment based case seemed to be stuck (he has his EAD which he renews every year, has had 2 interviews for the case), they decided to file a withdrawal of his employment based and file a marriage based one through her.
It's been 2 years though, and nothing has happened...They have since had an interview for the marriage based one, but no word on their green cards...
They have also called USCIS several times, just to hear them say "you just have to wait"...They have also spoken to a couple of congressman and representatives for our state (MA).
They have been waiting patiently up until now because even though he doesn't have his GC yet, he never had to leave, and he can still work and live legally because he has his EAD. His card is about to expire at the end of next month, and they have applied for the renewal last month... but they are fearing now because his employer told him that he will be fired if his cards expires even 1 day! With all the backlog, they are afraid the renewed card won't get to them in time!
Does anyone have any ideas as to what else they can do to find out what's the hold up, so that they can finally get this approved???
