Do you have to have the exam in Mexico? Are there clinics in the US that are approved for a medical exam if taken XX amount of days prior to the interview?

No Angela, just those 2 medical clinics in CDJ...
It's not an awful experience, you just have to make sure your husband knows not to trust them!
Actually, the people I spoke to at the desk were very kind!

So there are two clinics in CDJ....Is there one more desirable than the other?

From what I have read - they are both about the same...people have had negative experiences at both....although I am sure that the negative ones are just easier to point out afterwards....

You can view the information regarding the medical clinics on their website. You can only go to clinics approved by the consulate.

When the Consulate has the approved petition on file and has received all necessary clearances the applicant will be notified of the date for his or her immigrant visa interview. In Mexico, immigrant visa interviews are done only at the Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez. All applicants must also obtain a medical examination from a physician approved by the U.S. government. In Ciudad Juarez, there are two medical offices approved to process immigrant visa interviews. Both are located within a block of the Consulate. Applicants must present their visa interview appointment letter in order to obtain the medical examination. Most applicants have their medical examination on the weekday immediately proceeding the day of their immigrant visa interview. The clinics see applicants on a walk-in basis between 7 and 11 A.M. Monday to Friday
