 I really have forgot all about this. A while back my fiance was involved in a minor fender bender, according to him, she pulled out in front of him. To make a medium sized story short, he got scared and left (big mistake, I know) but not before someone got his plates. Well, police report was made and sent to accident investigations. The investegators came to the house later, but we were not at home. I got a copy of the police report and she blamed him. Since he left, they took her word. Well the insurance company sent us like 3 or letters. After consulting an atty, I called the subrogation department and, of course they wanted him to pay up. They said otherwise, they would send the BMV a notice. Even though it was not his fault, he broke the law by leaving. They said if he pd half (which really wasnt much, like$450.00) no further action would be taken and they would go away. We paid and I have a letter stating that he fullfilled his debt. He never got a ticket or anything, but will the police report show up in the criminal background check? Or is that just convictions and tickets and such? SORRY SO LONG!!!

Mayita,

I'm sorry, but I don't know about this incident, but I just read your other post. USCIS wants proof of you having met in person within the last 2 years (24 months). They're not looking for proof of you two having met more than two years ago. They're also not looking for a relationship that has lasted for two years or longer. They only want proof of having met sometime within the past two years. Their thoughts are if it's been more than 2 years since you've seen each other in person, that realtionship is suspicious. So, you could use really recent things as proof of meeting. There are a ton of people who communicate long distance, meet one time, and then a week later apply for the fiance visa and are eventually approved. :)
