Pls, i need advice

Hello,

I'm new to this site, just got it while searching, hope you can be of help for me.

I have CR1 interview in US Embassy Lagos in May 14th 2008 and after answering the questions, the CO said that I'm ineligible for the visa because I have applied for B2/B4 visa in 2001 which indicated I'm married. I have never married before it was a mistake on my side, I filled married in the B2/B4 to show strong ties that I will return to my home country and now they are using it as a red flag. The CO said the case will be returned to homeland security where it was approved.

Can anybody tell me what I can do to stop them from sending it back to US.

I need your advice urgently.

You are probably not going to be able to stop them from sending it back. The fact that you marked "Married" was Misrepresentation, and the best that you can hope for is to somehow prove that you've never been married and then to be allowed to file an I-601 to overcome the Misrepresentation.

If I were you, I would get an attorney (fast) who could maybe help you with the way to go about getting this cleared up.

Does your country provide any type of certificate to show that you are not married? Some do, not sure about yours.

When the file goes back to USCIS (DOHS) you will have the chance to prove that you are not married, a difficult thing to do. Once you have done that, if you can, it would be sent back tot he consulate and then you would probably have to file the 601.

I will suggest that you call the embassy or walk in. Ask them to help you to get back to your family as soon as possible. Using this very simple approach could be helpfull. Be humble and have faith in GOD

Thank you for your reply. I have a document that I get from the high court that I have never married before, which is letter of bachelorhood. I can send it to the DHS which they asked for it and also my wife already have the copy of the letter.
