Today I got a letter from the Embassy saying to make an appointment for Tuesday June 3 on InfoPass, the reason they have given is: Interview on the I-601 Petition. Can some1 tell me what this means? It says in the letter: "you must come to this office in connection with an official matter. office is abviously immigrant & non Immigrant Visas Waiting room. ANd it also says, I must bring my passport with me.

I would be greatful if some1 can give me more info on this. I have no clue why I am having to go for another interview. I am stressed out n upset as it is, now this again, I hope n pray to God all goes well and waiting for some posotive replies from all the gr8 ppl on this site.

Best of luck to all~

The 2nd interview is for those who are eligible to file the I 601 waiver. You need to bring that letter and your HSL to that interview and hope that it is approved on the spot to come home.

Thanks so much for the response. I will make an appointment on the 3rd of June as it says in the letter, also it says in the letter to bring my passport only. Should i take more documents with me just in case? I have filed I-601 back in October and waiting ever since, they asked my husband back in NY to send our girls birth certificate copies, that was done last week, now i got this letter. I'm hoping for the best, Rest is upto GOD~

Thanks you and all the best~

uknygirl - I would take the contact from the embassy as very positive and just do as it says. They don't tend to waste time on interviews that are not headed in the right direction! Good luck.

I think this means that your 601 is approved.

If you call the Washington number they will probably be able to tell you. . .

202-663-1225

You will need to push "1" and then "0" for operator, you will need your case number and date of birth to get any information.

Good luck!

what did your letter say specifically....when you waiver has been approved the letter usually says that they are ready to begin the next step in processing of your visa.

different consulates do it differently but it seems they are telling you to come for your visa interview and they would not be doing that unless you have passed all the hurdles in your case....meaning that your waiver has been approved.....

Well, the letter says i need to go to infopass and make an appointment for Tuesday June 3, 2008, It says, "you must come to this office in connection with an official matter. and then it says, Reason for Appointment: INTERVIEW on the I-601 Petition filed in October. IT also says in bold font, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU KEEP ABOVE APPOINTMENT FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2008.

You are right. That is definitely different from the typical letter before visa appt. after approved waiver. If I were you, I would definitely post this question in Laurel's chat next Wednesday and then go from there....

calling is not a problem for me but i don't think they will be able to give me further info on this waiver matter, it was all done in London, plus i'm in the UK myself. They won't have any idea about this.

Thanks n Regards

The consulate enters the information that they have for the DOS line to see. My stuff is done in Montreal and they still update.

Once the consulate gets the approval they enter it.

I called Washington just now, but their system was updated last in March 2008 regarding my petition. She could not answer my question. Thanks so much for yr support.

Just to be sure..........you filed thru London?
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that how London works?

Once your approved, you need to bring in your passport to have the VISA stamped?

It seems like uknygirl is getting responses as if she is going thru CDJ. Just want to be sure she is getting the correct info. :shy:

Hi uknygirl.

It's been a long time since I've posted on here but my husband came over from Northern Ireland and all his paperwork and I-601 was processed through london. When his I-601 was approved all he was asked to do was mail his passport back to them and they sent his visa through a carrier back to him and it took a couple of days.

Doesn't seem normal for London that they are asking you to come in for an interview for the I-601 but I would take it as a good sign that they are asking you to bring your passport with you. I would guess they are planning on approving the I-601 waiver but for some reason they still have some questions they want you to answer.

Every so often London changes things around on how they do the I-601 waivers so maybe this is just a new step. There is not way of telling until you go and find out.

Best wishes and Best of luck. Hope everything turns out well for you

Yes, thats what i was told at my interveiw. I know how London works, thats why I was shocked when i got the letter about this second interview, i'm sure they need more info in order to go further with my waiver, or maybe they want to c me face-face. A few questions, then they might issue my visa. Fingers crossed, Can't wait for June the 3rd. Haha~ Thanks for yr support and best of luck to u!
