What is a finger printing packet and where do you get it and what is it for?

Some people submit their fingerprints to the FBI before starting the process to find out such things as criminal history and if there was a deportation ever issued.

It is not required, but many people do so just to know what they are 'up against' so to speak.

Where do you find the information about the fingerprints I do want to see if there is too much there so where do I find out this information?
