Her story is like everyone else, she was just trying to delay her deportation.

I did not know about her, but she was caught on Sunday, Leaving Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in downtown Los Angeles.

Sorry to hear that she will be deported leaving her 8 year old son in the states.:bluesad:

What mother would desert her son? I just find it hard to believe.

Would anybody here do that?

Sometimes people make sacrifices that don't seem right to others, but in doing so she is giving her son every opportunity to succeed and be where he belongs. Granted many don't believe that and feel she is a terrible mother and person, but by not taking her son with her she is giving him more than she could probably ever give him here in hiding.

This is just another family being separated at the hands of the law.

And anyway, she is facing prison time, so says the article. She certainly can't take care of her son from prison.
I'm kind of bothered by the fact that, like that radio guys said, she is one of the "faces" of illegal immigrants. I don't want my husband compared to someone like her... He wouldn't want that either...
Like I read an editorial in Sunday's paper about an illegal Peruvian who had murdered three teenagers. BAD for illegal immigrants...
What about the other 11.9 million who want to be thought of as law abiding... They don't have any voice at all...

I truly feel sorry for her son, as he is the innocent in all of this.

No one likes to hear about families being separated, but I'm not exactly sure what she expected. She entered illegally twice and used a fake social security card. I'm sorry, but she's lucky they haven't deported her before now.

But I guess that makes me 'anti immigrant'...!

I was thinking the smae exact thing your not alone Traci. I mean I truely feel sorry for her and her son, however I was looking at the pictures and her family owns a lil shop (not that it's alot of money) down there so there is an income. I am with you what did she truely expect becasue her son is a US citizen that forgives her for breaking the law TWICE? I think she needed to go through the same process as any of us. One of my good friends is banned for 10 years because of multiple entries and well although they have no kids right now he is married to a US citizen but that doesn't allow him to stay :( it's not an easy process. I do think she needs to get her son and bring him to mexio with her he needs to be with his mother!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never agreed with what she was doing. I posted about it in another thread.
