I've already received our NOA2 as well as notice for NVC that they've forwarded our case to CDJ...does anyone know if there's a # I can call to check on our status at CDJ and to find out if they've already sent the fiance packet or will be sending it soon?

Thanks!

Hi,

There is usually a fax# or email address for the consulates in which anyone may inquire on their case.

I found some nice templates on this website to follow up on this.

here are some and I hope you find them helpful for you K visa

It usually takes them 3-4 weeks to send out the packets. You can email them at: cdjimmigrantvisas@state.gov

Put "Case Status for (your case number)" in the subject line. They usually respond in a day or two and will let you know if it has been sent.

hey thanks, kitkat. glad to see that you're still around! i tried a different email address earlier in the week but didn't get any response from them. hopefully this email address will work!

maebird, we received our NOA1 on Feb 28 and received our NOA2 on May 17. Ours went to the California Service Center. Hope that helps. I always liked to check the timelines on Visajourney.com Seems like there are a lot more people applying for K-1's on that site. Have you been checking your case status online through the USCIS website?

We got our NOA1 on March 8, had a touch on April 26, and haven't heard anything since. Our case was also transferred to CSC, on March 26. At this point, I'm getting extremely anxious - how long should I wait before I call to see if something is wrong? I really thought we'd have heard something by now, even if it was an RFE or just another touch.

have you tried checking your case status online? i know that some people on visajourney.com were approved but didn't receive a paper NOA2 in the mail for several weeks. Your online status would show an approval though.

Yep, I check it online (probably a bit excessively! :)). I tried calling to get some info but I heard a message that I cannot call that number from my location (Mexico). I'm on visajourney quite a bit too, and I've seen many people who filed after me at CSC get approved. I really don't know what to do.

I don't know if this applies to your case or not but it is more information.

USCIS Update
California Service Center (CSC) Experiencing System Delays
WASHINGTON – The California Service Center (CSC) is experiencing systems problems that are causing delays in the printing of certain notices. USCIS believes the delays are primarily affecting approval notices for cases decided between April 2007 and the present, although production of some receipt notifications may be affected as well. USCIS is attempting to identify the source of the problem and generate the delayed notices as quickly as possible. In the interim, CSC has established interim procedures to help facilitate the needs of its customers.
• If USCIS has cashed your remittance check and you have yet to receive a receipt notice, please verify your case's status on-line using the receipt number indicated on your cancelled check. If you don't know your receipt number, please contact the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) toll-free at 800-375-5283 for your receipt number.
• If you believe that you haven't received an approval notice (for example - you check the online system and it indicates that your case was approved and you have not received an approval notice), USCIS encourages you to submit an inquiry to the e-mail box: CSC.NoNotice@DHS.Gov. Please include your receipt number and/or your "A" number with your inquiry. USCIS expects to respond to email inquiries within 30 calendar days.

I did see that notice........but even with that problem, it shouldn't affect our online status, should it? I haven't heard whether or not this problem is delaying the posting of approval notices online.

I just don't know. I am always a bit suspicious when they have these issues as to whether we are getting the whole story or not.

I just wonder when folks say their computers are down what that really means.

So I really don't know anything other than what the notice says.

If I find any other information I will post.

I know what you mean. I have horrible visions of them throwing paper airplanes with pages of our applications.

I'm glad I'm not the only one left from March. I'm going to try calling again when I go to the States to visit in a few weeks. If I find anything out I will let you know.
