I think it is a personal choice, but for me I felt that it showed my dedication and support to my husband! But like I said it is a personal decision!

Well, I used to think it wasnt necessary, UNTIL I read and read visajourney's experiencies and they really recommend to have your spouse at the interview, so I told my hubby, he has to be there, and he agrees.
So I guess it depends of each country, like Mexico for example, spouses are not allowed.

In my husband's case it was important. I arrived late (because I had to drive through a blizzard to Canada after my flight was cancelled because of the storm and being ordered off the roads the night before because of a state of emergency. . .) the CO's attitude was completely different when I got there. . . .

I think it shows that you are committed and things are "real".Even though I was told to go sit down, the people at the US Embassy in Islamabad certainly knew I was there. I wanted to be there in case they decided to go for the fraud interview. And my husband was a nervous wreck, so for his sake as well, I am glad I was there.

I only recall that happening a couple of times and for a specific reason.
The only way that I remember a spouse getting to go in was if they were using the spouses credit card to pay the fees and the spouse had to sign the credit card receipt.

In our Embassy, I was asked if I would like to be apart of the interview because it concerned me too. I was really happy to be able to get involved, I wrote the waiver so I knew more about it then my husband did and I got to add many things my husband would never thought about.

my hubby think that is very important
This was the other reason I thought it was very important, my husband was VERY nervous and felt much more comfortable with me there. . .he was able to speak much more confidently with the moral support.

My husband went with me to the Interview (but it was Poland, not Ukraine). To be honest, I would rather he would not go. It was a very difficult experience. Men aren’t as strong as women are. So, instead of trying to keep myself together I had to “support and comfort” my husband. That was very difficult for me.
I would suggest you to find out is US citizens allowed to be with their wife’s on the time of the Interview. If “yes” and your husband feels like going – God Bless. If “no” and you rather him not to go – there is your answer.
You have been so many years together- I do not think that you still have to prove that your marriage is valid by your husband coming with you.
P.S. congrats on approval of your I-130.
