Ok so I don't think I explained the difference between the I-129F process and the I-130 process. This is what I gave him....
If anyone can give me feedback on this. All dates are of course approximate, but did I leave anything out? What am I missing? I am trying to explain the pilot program, but that is just confusing him. The I-129F route seems better huh? Any comments?

Well, I think I would go the I-129(f) route. It is more money in the long run, but it is usually faster (which makes a big difference if your spouse is in Mexico). I also like the idea of deciding when to go to CDJ, so you can prepare on your own time without feeling pressured by an upcoming appointment. Good luck deciding, though. I know it isn't an easy decision, but I hope the two of you can come up with a plan that works well for both of you:)

I thought it was included in the Visa fee of $380, but I could be wrong.

Do you get to choose your I-129F appointment?
Nope fingerprints are $85 when you get to the consulate. Is there no more fee for the I-864?? We paid $70 I believe for that to the NVC.
Also with the I-129, you have to pay $100 (though it's usually $110) in CDJ for the K3. The medical though should be like $135-145, since you don't get shots and all. Also I couldn't tell if you included this, but even if your waiver is sent to the backlog and later is approved and you get a K3 you will still have to do all the adjustment of status stuff. Since the NVC is holding I-130's now, you won't be able to switch to that for the IR1 visa. gdalicia is trying this, but they told her that they won't request the NVC to forward it to them.
Do you get to choose your I-129F appointment?
No, they schedule that for you. Only K1's/fiance's have open appointments where they can go when they want.
Our I-129 was approved April 26, 2006 and our K3 interview was July 13, 2006.

According to the USCIS website if you submit an I-129F in connection with a I-130 there is no more fee. Also there was a $0 with the I-864. I am budgeting about $500 more for hidden fees that I have not caught. Plus I hope to be working with an attorney by the time we have to submit the I-601 packet. I did include a medical fee of $300. So no shots? I thought he had to get like the MMR and stuff?

So I figured about 3 months after approval so that is good. I know it could change, but I was just trying to give him an Idea because I really don't want him to go to Mexico any earlier than he has to and he doesn't want to stay if he can't work cause he doesn't want to be a burden on me. So I think we are going to do the K3 way. I am just scared he is going to get the interview questions wrong. I asked him my birthday and he said the 13th when it's on the 3rd! He always gets it wrong
LOL, my husband isn't that great with dates either....
Well I know that filing the I-129f (spouses) is supposed to be free now. It used to be $170. But I don't know if that includes the K3 visa fee that you pay at banamex in CDJ....
No, K3's don't get shots. I can't remember exactly all it is, but basically they just get looked over and they have an xray done.

Opps I messed up on the years :D let me go fix it. Thanks for noticing. Really the thing I showed him had the real dates on it. I work in a job where I am working with dates in 08 and 09. 07 doesn't even seem to exsist anymore.
