After carefully readin a whole lot of postings on here. I think I will beging this process on my own with OUT the use of a Lawyer. Its seems pretty confusing at time..But within skimming through many of the forums in here.. I found a whole lot of invaluable information that has inspired me to do this process LAwyer free... another factor that I also considered is that the very nice lawyer that I was fortunate to meet was charging me double of what it takes to first file your I-130 packet. I'm sure she is very experienced in this, but the truth of that matter is that money that I will be paying her can go towards our SAVINGS account we have started to support this Process and our family incase something unexpectedly should happen. Thank you all for your kind words or encouragement... and wish me luck... Im going in.. :beam:

NOw I gotta tell you guys that the whole 601 Wavier thing is pretty intimidating.... its a pretty long process and alot of evidence and writting to be done.. But I hope I can count on all of your for support and tips in my journey.

I just checked the prices for submitting my first forms and it seems to be $455 for the I-130 and 355 for the I-129F (for my spouse) and I did check to see what the address was to file my paper work with, since I do not want a rejeted letter. Umm... am I missing aNYTHING?????? If I am.. please let me know.. I am Soooo excited....:D

Congratulations on getting started!!! It can be nerve-wracking and stressful - but you are very right - with all of the experience that the members have here - you can get answers to just about any questions you may have in the paperwork.

I could be wrong - but I believe it has just been stated that when filing the I129F in conjunction with the I130 - you do not have to pay the $455 for that form, only the fee for the I130 (which is actually $355).

Other than making sure you submit all of the documents that are requested when submitting the petitions - you should be good to go!!

Like I said - just jump right in an ask if you do come across any questions!! We'll all help you out! Many of us just recently filed our I130s/I129Fs!

This is what I found in a different thread regarding the fees:

As of July 30th there isn't fees to file an I-129F if you have done an I-130, but look to all the hidden costs to find the best way for you.

Lucky is right you send in the I-130 Packet for $355 then you wait for your NOA1 and send in the I-129F and it is free to send in since you paid the $355 for the I-130.

Welcome! I am doing the same route you are so please feel free to ask ??'s I asked a lot recently on the I-129F cause I wanted to speed up the process.

Congrats Ms_Delacruz. You will do it just fine, with the help from wonderful people on here it will be completely possible. I can say this as my husband was just approved and we didnt use a lawyer for any part of it. Best wishes!
