Xandtrick,
I read that article and am disgusted, especially because I live in Columbia, Missouri. I am thinking about joining a pro-immigration organization and fighting for change at the Missouri capital!

I don't get it. It's already illegal for employers to hire illegal aliens. Wouldn't it be redundant to pass another law against something that's already illegal? And wouldn't the employer's worker's comp insurance pay for an injured employees medical bills? In California employers are required to have worker's comp insurance by law and I'm sure they are in other states as well. What's that about the taxpayers paying for it?

I think the comment left by that wacko was insinuating that companies would not take care of an insurance claim but instead just leave them at the ER where they would not pay their bill. That is my assumption.
My husband was covered by a workman's compensation claim for major injuries as well as time out of work while undocumented. (although the insurer tried their best to scare us off) Many have made comments that that was paid by tax dollars, but it was actually paid for by the premiums paid to the private insurance company. Now other states like WA have L&I and I am not as familiar with how that works. And if any of it is subsidized.
