My husband just had K-3 visa interview Aug 14th. in Honduras. Told he needed to file both 601 and 212. He was denied for unlawful presence 10 yr ban. Also the 212 for deportation-he went to officer -he was not picked up. No criminal history. We also have 3 children. Married 4 yrs. I would like to try to do I-601 myself. I have letters from family, pastor and doctor. I am trying to get one also from psychologist. One of my sons has medical problem that has landed him in hospital on occasion and Honduras cannot provide the medical care he needs in emergency if we don't have the $-will they look at that? Is that a good start? What all do I need to include? Does anyone know if they are filed together with the same documentation? :confused1:

Hi! Welcome to 12us! We are forming quite a group of women whose loved ones are going through TGU... this is so exciting! :)
I am filing for my husband through Honduras as well. I will try to help as much as I can, but I am just now filing my I-130 or K-3 (haven't decided which one yet!). Most of the other Honduras ladies are just about as far as you are in this process, but I think I am the only one so far that will have to file the I-212.
What I understand is that you file the I-212 and the I-601 at the same time. If your I-601 is approved, generally they approve the I-212 as well. You sound like you have good hardships... When you are writing your hardship letter, include AS MUCH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE AS POSSIBLE. Definitely send the letters, but if you have copies of medical records, I would submit those too. Make it sound as if your child would not survive if they had to move to Honduras. There are a lot of examples of good hardship letters which got approvals here on the board. I would strongly suggest that you read through them and jot down tips. There is also an essay on the Hake Hardship Scale somewhere-- I would read that as well. I found it very helpful! :) After you have written your letter, I would encourage you to submit it in a post on i2us; there are a lot of wise veterans here who will help critique your letter and offer priceless advice.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! WELCOME!!!

Thanks Corazoncita for the warm welcome. It is so nice to know that I'm not the only one. I wish I would have found this site months ago. It has been a very stressful experience. I will look through the example hardship letters tonight. Thanks. :o

Welcome rkzal! Corazoncita has outlined what you should do very well. There is also a 212 thread that you should look through. I don't much about it, but you'll find lots of info on the site. Best of luck to you!!
