Let's see who would become the next president if it was up to us.

Even though I'm all for Obama, I hope McCain reconsiders about bringing the draft back, we don't need that anymore. Or if he still feels strong about it I hope he sends his kids first out to war, so he can know how it feels like to have someone you love away and not knowing if they will come back home safe.

I know there are a lot of obama supporters on this site, and I've never said anything for that. I cannot vote for someone who cannot raise his hand to our national anthem I just can't do it. But that's just my opinion.

I agree...also, I recently saw that Obama wants to raise taxes as much as 52.5%, I believe was the amount, um, no thank you!

Actually, he's got a son serving in his second tour in Iraq right now, Lance Corporal Jimmy McCain. There might be more- he's got like 7 kids of varying ages.

Still, I back Obama. I don't care if the President's kids go first- no one needs to be there in my humble opinion.

But McCaine wants to give the wealthy ones a tax break!!

1600dlls a month are taken off my fiancé's paycheck, it isn't fair that the ones that work the hardest have to pay more taxes.

As for Obama not raising his hand, I actually have more respect for a man who puts God first and then the sinners...one simply can't please everybody.

I agree..but I would rather a tax break for the wealthy than raising taxes for the middle and poverty level classes, especially ones that are barely over the "middle class" mark. We pay alot of taxes as it is. I know if my husband and I are forced to pay even more, we will be lowered to the poverty level.. Sad indeed. It's all very sad.

To be honest, I do not like any of the candidates! They all have their faults, but you have to choose the best of the worst.

There is NO WAY the middle class pay more in taxes than the wealthy! Where did you get this info? The wealthy pay a higher percent and since they make more money and pay the higher percent, then they certainly pay more in taxes. Generally the middle class pays out about 25-30% in taxes. If your amount is higher than that, then someone is doing something wrong (the percent really depends on the number of dependents and the state and local tax). So, if $1600 is taken from your fiance's salary, then he must make about $65,000 a year. If it is a lot less than that, really have someone look at your taxes.

Also, keep in mind that many of the wealthy are business owners. Meaning we buy their product. If the government increases their taxes, they are just going to pass that cost on to us, the consumers. Take the gas and oil companies, if they increase their taxes by say 5%, then we will turn around and be paying 5% higher for gas. In the end, the wealthy will get their money that they want, and we are the ones that pay for it!

I'll probably end up voting for McCain, but there's a part of me that really wants Obama to win. There's something exiting and new and fresh about him. I kind of want to give him a chance. Strange coming from an conservative ol' Bible-thumping girl like myself............. but then again, I AM going through a mid-life crises so maybe it's not so surprising.

Just FYI. I always check out things when they seem a little sensational:) I think this is the site that also clears up the history behind many "immigration and illegal" rumors.
