a police certificate? and how do i get the arrest record? i need help.
i also need double help. i can't find my husband's court disposition...AND since the charges were dropped, the court has no record of him either. i guess they don't keep records for cases where the charges were dropped????
i mean it was just driving without a license...but it would MAJORLY s*** to be backlogged in CDJ because i couldn't locate a disposition and an arrest record for a misdemeanor charge...

hi jsierra...
laurel said all you need is the arrest records, so i guess you can just go to the police station and see if they have any record? im not too sure.

Hmmm, that is hard to say because we had to have the disposition. We were told that if there was an arrest (even if the charges were dropped or no charges filed because that happened to hubby) we needed the disposition.

ok well for the disposition, i just did a public records search...maybe if i physically go to the courthouse (grrr, it's over an hour away where he was arrested) i will have better luck. i'm also going to be ripping apart my basement this weekend because i KNOW i wouldn't have thrown something like that away...it HAS to be somewhere in the boxes from the move...
the arrest record, well, i mean, going to the station and getting printed was what i was trying to avoid. that's the MD requirements for the police certificate...
i just did a free online consulatation with a lawyer (i know, i know, i'm like the most anti-lawyer person on here) but i did NOT mention immigration, i just asked if there was anything an attorney could do to obtain his arrest records. it was free. i figured, WTH? you know?

I think that although the charges are dropped, the courts should have it. I know I was reading up on expungement (after reading bohorquez's post) and I found that the record is just removed from public access/view. I know you're just talking about dropped charges, but perhaps the guidelines are similar. Before you make the 1hr drive, try calling the court to see if you can get it by mail. My fiancé had minor driving violations and I called the courthouse and they provided me with the information I needed to get a copy of the record sent to me.

I had to get a copy of my husbands record for our lawyer, if you go to the court house and ask for a certified copy is like $15 and it has every arrest and outcome in that county.
