Hi guys:wave:...Well since i went back to work Shyann has had a cold that lasted 2 weeks thrush pinkeye and now she has bronchitis and an ear infection:ill:. My question is has anyone delt with bronchitis in their kids before? The doctore gave her an antibiotic and a cough medicine for night time because she was coughing so bad she couldn't sleep:bye:. I have been doing everything i need to do to make her as comfy and happy as i can i just want to know how long this is going to last i hate seeing her so miserable and tired and i thought maybe one of you has delt with this before.

if he gave you a cough suppressant, it should kick in quickly and should have things under control in a few days. Bronchitis gets worse when you lay down. Have you tried propping her up to sleep? Sometimes I've had to just hold Michaela so she could be propped up to where she wouldn't be coughing.
Hang in there momma!

yeah i prop her up on her bobby when she is sleeping, i give her vapor baths but baby rub on her i had a vaporizer going in her room when she was sleeping but i was told to use a cool mist humidifier instead so i bought one yesterday, i have been pushing liquids and i bought her pedialyte, i gave her cough and cold suckers and have been using saline drops and suctioning out her nose and i am sure there is more i just can't think of right now (sleep deprived) i just hate hearing her cough like that i hope it goes away soon and doesn't last for a long time i heard it could last a couple weeks but i thought maybe someone who has delt with this before might have some more insight into this.

humidifier, and we put my kids in their carseats to sleep. When they were infants.....but also, later as a toddler my son had such bad bronchitis along with his asthma that I would bring the convertible carseat in from the car to put him in after he fell asleep in my arms.
She WILL make it through...hang in there. It is such a hard time when kids first enter childcare/school.....their bodies get pounded on by all the new germies....it will get better. The unfortunate part, being new daycare usually means taking time off from a new job:( Sorry to hear it has been rough.

have you tried making her a tea? You can try epasote de zorio or gordolobo. Those are for the cough.

I was using a vaporizer but someone suggested at work i use a humidifier instead so i bought one yesterday and put it in her room last night and for todays naps...the job is going good. I like the fact that i get to be with Shyann but i feel bad that she gets every sickness that passes through there, but i hear it's better for her that way she builds up her immune system now instead of getting sick all the time once she starts school.
