i'm still waiting for my passport with visa. so what's next? will the embassy send me a selaed envelope that will be opened at the port of entry? i am scared. please help me about the procedure. thanks
gracey - I believe they are going to send you the brown sealed envelope along with your passport and visa. The officer is going to open it at the POE. It contains your medical records, reports from the embassy, documents that you filled out and signed. You should go over your paperwork to refresh your memory to answer some of the
questions you already went through at the time of your visa interview. Just remain calm and polite. I believe the officer will hold the contents of the envelope so it will be forwarded to your district office.

Thanks. I'm kinda scared. Is there a possiblity they won't let me in? (I'm paranoid) Is it kinda like an "interrogation"? I'm scared to be treated like a criminal again.

My understanding is that the entry questions are pretty much a formality. . .the border officer ALWAYS has final say as to whether or not you enter, but usually they don't try to interrogate you or keep you away when you've already been approved.
Just make sure not to open the "Do Not Open" labeled envelope and you will be fine.
Congratulations!

Thanks. Do I have to leave ASAP when I get the visa? I just can't leave right away; work and other obligations. Will they question me about that? Like let's say I'll leave after 2 weeks from the receipt of my visa?

Two weeks should not be a problem. You usually have either 6 months, or til the expiration of your medical exam, whichever comes first.

They were a bit brutal to my hubby at POE Gracey... bunch of stupid questions forever, and just waiting his turnt to be questions for over an hour... Just make sure to leave a lOT of room from POE to any connecting flights.
I gave the hubby over 4 hours and he needed every minute of it....
Border officers are trained to be skeptical to anyone entering at the POE. Security is their first concern. They probably won't smile at you while inspecting your documents and while asking you some questions. But that is just the expected process to anyone. Some are lenient, some are strict. As long as you are well-prepared and you know you passed everything you need to get your visa, you will be okay.

Will they ask about my F/M case? What should I tell them?
Just calmly respond the question at it's face and don't be extensively "detailed". For instance if the officer asks, "why did you have a misrepresentation, what did you do?" And you'll be like " I put this and this at my previous __ application." And no more... Don't add phrases like, " But you know I was no naive then and it was actually not my fault blah blah blah".
I know they are free to ask any questions they want. The whole process might take 5 or 50 minutes at the POE. But they are bound to abide by the rules and that is you already overcome the inadmissibility through I-601 submission and it's already been taken care of. They have complete reports of your inadmissibility from the finding up to the approval. Your conscience is clear, be confident.

I'm really very anxious to see my husband. It's been almost 2 years! Can't wait. Still waiting for my visa. It's been one week since I submitted all the requirements. I wanna fly over there soon, soon! Thanks!
